Top marks for Rebecca
Date of Issue: 16th November 2006
Rebecca Bostock has been awarded the R J Weston Award for Achievement
by the Derby District of the Institute of Chartered Accountants
in England and Wales (ICAEW). The award is given to the student
who achieves the highest marks at the Advanced stage of the
ICAEW examinations. Rebecca, who is now an Associate member
of the Institute, and who works for Bates Weston, one of Derby's
leading firms of business advisors and chartered accountants,
is delighted with her award.
She comments:
"It's always great to have your hard work recognised and I am
grateful for the support I have received from my family, friends
and colleagues"
On a lighter note, Rebecca, was excited about receiving her
award at the ICAEW's Annual Dinner, and was very relieved not
to have to make a speech!
Cath Walker, the president of the Derby Society of Chartered
Accountants, presented the award at the dinner held on Thursday
evening at Pride Park.
Rebecca's Director at Bates Weston, is Glyn Evans, and he is
understandably proud of Rebecca's achievements, as he is of
all of the students conducting their ICAEW training under contract
to the firm.
He comments:
"Rebecca's achievement is a reflection of
her dedicated and committed approach to her studies and to her
work. We are very proud of her and of her fellow students at
Bates Weston. They have all worked so hard and deserve their
success"
Glyn adds that:
"Our students are guided throughout by our
training mentor, Marie Loydall, who over her years with Bates
Weston has trained more than 30 fledgling accountants, achieving
a pass rate for first-time qualified Chartered Accountants of
95%. I know all the students are deeply appreciative of the
support she gives them"
